Robert (Rob) Larsen, born October 18, 1968, passed away on April 3, 2026, at Drayton Valley Hospital with his family by his side. Rob’s life was marked by deep devotion to his loved ones, an unwavering commitment to family, and a rich tapestry of interests that reflected his warm and generous spirit. A cherished partner of 35 years to Pebbles Morrison, Rob’s greatest joy was found in the company of his family. He was the proud father of three children: Rachel, Curtis, and Sheldon, and a loving grandfather to Emmalynn and Addison. His mother, Connie Larsen, and sister, Jodi Larsen, as well as a large extended family, as well as several friends join in mourning his loss.

He was predeceased by his father, Stanley Larsen, as well as his brothers, Ricky and Lorne Larsen.

Born in Breton, Rob grew up and lived in Central Alberta his entire life. Throughout his life, Rob worked in all aspects of the oilfield and as a natural born leader, he never took long to become a boss at a new job. Rob always had a side hustle on the go as he liked to be busy. He could sell anything. Rob was known for his extraordinary culinary skills. Specifically, he loved to cook for the masses. Whether BBQing burgers and making ice cream cones for the whole ball team, or cooking hundreds of pancakes for breakfast perfectly on the campfire at the May long weekend, his ability to cook brought pleasure that friends and family will fondly remember. He used this skill to in his most recent side hustle “Slinging Jerky”. He developed a system to make the best, “Damn Good Jerky” around. All who try it love it. Beyond his talents in the kitchen, he loved spending time tending to his garden, where he cultivated both green flowers and vegetables. His passion for gardening was a testament to his nurturing nature. This side of him also attracted all young children to him. Whether he was feeding them treats or having water gun fights, all the kids loved Uncle Rob.

For the past 20 years Rob enjoyed several trips to Cancun, Mexico. Those excursions were opportunities for relaxation, adventure, and connection with local cultures, where he delighted in bartering with the locals—a practice that brought him much joy and a sense of camaraderie.
