Glory Tornack

With profound sadness, the family of Glory Tornack (née Strandquist) announce her passing on June 24, 2026. Glory left this world in Edmonton, surrounded by the memories of a lifetime filled with love. She was born on February 8, 1952, in Stettler, and through the years, she profoundly touched many lives.

Glory devoted her life to her family, her community, and the land she loved. From an early age, her strong spirit and deep sense of responsibility guided her many endeavors. Those who knew her best speak with admiration of her unwavering commitment to others and her readiness to embrace leadership roles that made a difference. Glory’s career in municipal government was marked by passionate service. She held the offices as Councillor, Mayor, and most recently served as the Deputy Mayor of the Village of Breton. Her tireless advocacy and steady presence were instrumental in shaping her community, earning her the trust and enduring gratitude of her neighbors and constituents.

Glory was an avid gardener, she found joy and tranquility among the flowers and greenery of her garden. Her impressive garden remains a testament to her love of beauty and her dedication to cultivation in all forms, reflecting the care she gave to everyone in her life.

Glory’s most cherished role, however, was always as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Jerry Tornack, who stood by her side through every season of life. Her memory will be cherished by her children; Tara Bebee (Rayall), Warren Repp (Melanie), Tannis Assmus (Matthew), Christopher Tornack (Corinne), and Jennifer McCarty. Glory’s memory will be further treasured by her grandchildren; Michael Bebee, Cody Bebee, Kaydence Bebee, Zachary Repp, Jayda Assmus, Aiden McCarty, Finn McCarty, Ava McCarty, Lily Tornack, and Brandon Tornack. She also leaves behind her siblings; Donald Strandquist (Evelyn), Larry Strandquist (Sue), Linda Plested (Don), Dixie Manson (Dale), and Glenn Strandquist (Ilana). Glory will also be affectionately remembered by Erika Hansel (Larry), Roger Stefura, Julie Stefura, Annie Janke, Becca Janke, Gunner Janke, Sarah Stefura (Knox), and Eric Stefura—each of whom held a special place in her heart and life. Glory's family will continue to honor her legacy with the lives they build and the values she instilled in them. Glory was predeceased by her beloved parents Joyce and Merle, her Aunt Maureen, and her Uncle Bruce.

A Celebration of Glory’s life will be held on July 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at the Breton Community Centre, 4715 50 Ave, Breton, AB T0C 0P0. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and gratitude for the extraordinary legacy Glory leaves behind. Her impact, selflessness, and love will remain in the hearts of those she touched, shaping her community and her family for generations to come.
